Spend time on Willow and Lore working heritage farm where you can become immersed in heritage farming experiences, traditional skills & craft workshops and traditional entertainment. Enjoy rest, relaxation and renewal activities in idyllic nature spaces, cultivated around the farm. Reconnect with nature and get hands on with us as we manage a regenerative, sustainable farm, guaranteed to bring you back to nature and back to a simpler time.

Fire, Feast & Folklore

Step back to a simpler time and peek in the window to an old Irish way of life. Developed in association with Tourism NI’s Embrace a Giant Taste. Hands on with heritage, work the land, harvest ingredients, prepare the food, cook over the open fire, enjoy a well earned traditional farmers meal and ceili by the fire.

Meitheal - Helping on the Farm

Meitheal, the Irish tradition of neighbours helping each other. From tending to our new born lambs in the spring to herding sheep in our rotational grazing system in summer, tending to crops, caring for our donkeys or sustaining our soil health and hedgerows, there is always something to get hands on with on the farm.

The Little Blue Flower

From flax seed to woven linen, join us through the flax season & support efforts to re-establish this native, sustainable, heritage fabric industry. Learn about the flax plant, how it is planted and harvested. Try your hand at braking, scutching and hackling to separate the linen fibres in the plant and prep them for spinning.

Weaving the Sally Rod

From planting cut shoots to weaving baskets, join us through the willow season. Learn how to prepare and plant shoots, make your own addition to our ‘Woven Lives’ living willow fence. Learn how to harvest rods, dry and prep for weaving and make your own woven willow souvenir.

Reconnection and Reset Trail

A reflective and meditative trail around the farm designed to immerse you in nature and ground you among the trees and rocks that have weathered every storm for generations. You will connect to a shared heritage, the lives and journeys, struggles and joys of others from other times whose footsteps you follow.

Traditional Skills and Crafts:

Advance booking is required. Experiences and activities are available Monday to Saturday and are typically full or half-day. Evening sessions may be arranged depending on activity and availability. Suitable for groups with min 2, max 12 people per session. Group discount of 10% is available on groups of 8 or more people. Larger groups of up to 24 people may be facilitated on request subject to the activity. For more information or to discuss your specific requirements contact us on the details provided above.

Wellingtons and protective equipment can be provided where required. Refreshments may be available to pre-book depending on group size and availability. Activities may include ‘hands-on’ elements and moderate walking over uneven terrain, for that reason, when booking please provide any information, including significant medical conditions or additional needs, that may be relevant to how we facilitate your visit. Mini-bus and coach parking available.
